A favorite for all climates, Elan is a super-compact berry ideal for living walls, baskets, containers, and other small spaces. The berries are small to medium and absolutely packed with intense flavor. The opposite of big, bland strawberries you see at the market, Elan is a gourmet gem!

CULTURE:

To get a head start in the fall, start your seeds indoors in late September or early October. For a spring start, sow seeds thinly in March or April in a fine soil-less mix. Press seeds into moist mix and keep moist until plants emerge in 2-3 weeks. Keep soil temperature between 60°F (16°C) and 75°F (24°C), if possible. Transplant to plug trays or 1-1 1/2" apart in flats, then to larger pots or planters. Transplant outdoors anytime, 1' apart. Tolerant to partial shade, and they prefer moist soil.
